The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a European Union (EU) privacy law that came into force on May 25, 2018. It regulates how any organisation that is subject to the Regulation treats or uses the personal data of people located in the EU. Personal data is any piece of data that, used alone or with other data, could identify a person.
White House Vets hold personal contact details for clients of the practice. These details are postal addresses, telephone numbers (both land-line and mobile), email addresses and financial information (for members of the Pet Care Plan). This information has been given to us by filling out forms such as on our web-site or by phone, email or face to face in the surgery.
These details are collected held and processed in line with the new General Data Protection Regulations. The contact details are used to send out reminders for vaccinations, flea and worm treatments and for health checks and also to contact clients regarding the health of their pets, such as a follow-up to a consultation, or to report on a result received from the laboratory. The details are also used to contact clients when their pets are at the practice undergoing a procedure.
Contact details may also be used when dealing with certain third parties such as insurance companies, referral centres, and debt recovery agencies
We understand the importance of keeping your information safe and secure. We only allow access to your information to those people who have a legitimate business need to do so and under strict confidentiality.
Under the GDPR you have the following rights over your information
If you think there has been a breach in the way that we have used your personal data, please contact us immediately at email@example.com.
